AB Tricyclic  and  related  cyclic  antidepressants  are  among  the  most  dangerous  drugs  involved  in  suicidal  overdose.  These  drugs  have  anticholinergic  and  cardiac  depressant  properties  (“quinidine-like”  sodium  channel  blockade).  Tricyclic  antidepressants  produce  more  marked  membrane-depressant  cardiotoxic  effects  than  the  phenothiazines.
