AB Most  patients  who  require  enteral  nutritional  support  can  be  given  commercially  prepared  enteral  solutions  (Table  29–3).  Nutritionally  complete  solutions  have  been  designed  to  provide  adequate  proportions  of  water,  energy,  protein,  and  micronutrients.  Nutritionally  incomplete  solutions  are  also  available  to  provide  specific  macronutrients  (eg,  protein,  carbohydrate,  and  fat)  to  supplement  complete  solutions  for  patients  with  unusual  requirements  or  to  design  solutions  that  are  not  available  commercially.
