AB Most  ankle  fractures  are  isolated  malleolar  fractures,  but  bimalleolar  and  trimalleolar  fractures  occur  in  up  to  one-third  of  cases.  While  there  are  numerous  classification  systems,  the  simplest  is  based  on  the  radiographic  appearance  of  these  malleoli.
