Mosquito-borne viral diseases are also called arbovirus (arthropod-borne) infections. They are considered zoonotic diseases that are transmitted to humans indirectly via mosquitos or ticks from primates to humans, or humans to humans. An overview of mosquito-borne diseases is shown in Table 169-1.
