Clinical Findings

  • Simple coal worker's pneumoconiosis is usually asymptomatic

  • Pulmonary function tests may be normal

  • Complicated disease, "progressive massive fibrosis," resembles complicated silicosis, with conglomeration and contraction in upper lung zones

Diagnosis

  • Chest radiograph shows diffuse small opacities prominent in upper lungs

  • Supportive
