V.F.001 Endothelial Cells

V.F.001

Endothelial cells. Marrow film. Linear cluster of spindle-shaped cells, presumably sheared from a microvessel intima when aspirating the marrow.

V.F.002 Epidermal (Squamous) Cells

V.F.002

Epidermal (squamous) cells. Marrow aspirate. Presumptive skin cells contaminating marrow aspiration during penetration of the skin.

V.F.003 Epithelial (Squamous) Cells

V.F.003

Epithelial (squamous) cells. Marrow film. Cluster of epithelial cells. They are relatively large with small centrally placed nucleus.

V.F.004 Mast Cell

V.F.004

Mast cell. Marrow film. Occasional mast cells are present in normal marrow. They contain large dark blue to purple granules that may obscure the centrally placed nucleus. They can be easily located at lower power by scanning the marrow film or biopsy section. They may be increased in the marrow in systemic mastocytosis and in several clonal lymphoid disorders, notably Waldenström macroglobulinemia.

V.F.005 Mast Cell

V.F.005

V.F.006 Mast Cell

V.F.006

Mast cell. Marrow film. Occasional mast cells are present in normal marrow. They contain large dark blue to purple granules that usually obscure the nucleus (arrow). They can be easily located at lower power by scanning the marrow film or biopsy section. They may be increased in the marrow in systemic mastocytosis and in several clonal lymphoid disorders, notably Waldenström macroglobulinemia and small cell lymphoma or chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

V.F.007 Mast Cell

V.F.007

Mast cell. Marrow film. Occasional mast cells are present in normal marrow. They contain large dark blue to purple granules. Here the centrally placed nucleus is evident. They can be easily located at lower power by scanning the marrow film or biopsy section. They may be increased in the marrow in systemic mastocytosis and in several clonal lymphoid disorders, notably Waldenström macroglobulinemia.

V.F.008 Mast Cell

V.F.008

Mast cell. Marrow film. Occasional mast cells are present in normal marrow. They contain ...
