This  morning,  he  noticed  a  small  swollen  mass  at  his  anus  when  washing  in  the  shower.  He  experienced  a  similar  episode  of  pain  and  bleeding  several  months  ago,  which  he  attributed  to  hemorrhoids,  but  his  symptoms  today  are  far  more  severe.
